Introduction
When you first connect your Airbnb account to Uplisting the connection is in read-only mode. When you are ready for Uplisting to sync with Airbnb you can upgrade the connection to full-sync.
Read-only mode
Read-only means Uplisting can access your listings content, calendar and settings, your bookings and guest messages but cannot change anything on your Airbnb account.

A risk-free way to look around Uplisting with your real listings, calendars and bookings.
You can connect in read-only mode even if you are switching from other software (which is very common).
Read-only mode means Uplisting can't make any changes on your Airbnb account, nor does it affect any existing software you use to manage your Airbnb accounts.
Read-only mode gives you time to set up automated messages, your direct booking engine, import existing bookings and more before you need to flip the switch for Uplisting to take control.
Connecting in full-sync mode with software like Uplisting results in a few changes on your Airbnb account. We'd prefer you to have a look around Uplisting and make sure Uplisting is a good fit for you before these changes take place. More on what these changes are below.
How to connect an Airbnb account
You can connect to your Airbnb account in two locations (explained below). Both options will direct you to Airbnb to approve the connection. Once connected, Uplisting will automatically import your listings, prices, bookings, guest conversations, and other settings.
Option 1: Connect to Airbnb via Settings
1. Open the Settings panel by hovering over Settings and Select 'Connect an Airbnb account'
2. Select 'Connect to Airbnb' on the pop-up modal
Ensure you are logged into the correct Airbnb account before pressing 'Connect with Airbnb' on Uplisting.
3. You are now directed to your Airbnb account to confirm the connection. Select the checkbox " I agree to the Airbnb Additional Terms of Service.". Select 'Allow'
Don't worry, you can disconnect from Uplisting either on Uplisting or directly on Airbnb (here) at any time.
4. Uplisting now imports your listings, bookings, messages etc. You can see your imported listings on your Uplisting calendar.
Option 2: Connect to Airbnb via the Connect page
The steps are more or less the same as Option 1, however, you can start the process on the Connect screen.
1. Go to the Connect screen and select Airbnb
2. Select 'Connect an Airbnb account'
3. Select the Connect with Airbnb button: Ensure you are logged into the correct Airbnb account before pressing 'Connect with Airbnb' on Uplisting.
4. You are now directed to your Airbnb account to confirm the connection. Select the checkbox " I agree to the Airbnb Additional Terms of Service.". Select 'Allow'
Don't worry, you can disconnect from Uplisting either on Uplisting or directly on Airbnb (here) at any time.
5. Uplisting now imports your listings. Go to your Calendar to view those listings.
How to upgrade to a full-sync Airbnb connection
Full-sync means Uplisting can make changes on your Airbnb account. You will need to upgrade your connection to full-sync for any of the Uplisting features (e.g. price updates and automated guest messages) to work on Airbnb.
What happens when the connection is upgraded to full-sync?
Uplisting will re-import all prices, availability and other settings from your Airbnb listing, so everything is up to date.
Uplisting will start sending updates to Airbnb. Updates include pricing, availability, restrictions (e.g. minimum length of stay) and guest messages.
Airbnb will set your listing to instant book if it isn’t already (Airbnb forces this but you can reverse it to require guests request to book).
Uplisting will add the markup you have set for Airbnb, apply that markup to your prices and sync to Airbnb (click here to see what markup you have selected).
Airbnb may set your Airbnb service fee to be 15%, which you may be able to revert (it’s overly complicated, read here for more information).
Upgrade to full-sync with Airbnb in a few clicks
If you are switching from other official Airbnb software, first disconnect that software from Airbnb (you can only connect to one official software in full-sync mode at a time).
Ensure you are logged into the correct Airbnb account, on Airbnb.
Go to the Connect > Airbnb page and click the 'Upgrade connection' button on the account you wish to upgrade.
Click the 'Upgrade connect to full access' button. This directs you to Airbnb.
Click 'Allow' on Airbnb
